When adding/deleting rows, GtkTreeModel implementations should emit
the signal "row-inserted" / "row-deleted" - this does not scale if
a large number of rows are added/deleted.  We cannot afford to emit
10^7 signals.

There is no signal corresponding to addition/deletion of columns.
